Warlord's Armory

The Warlords’ Armory

Whether it was the War for Grain, the Ending War, or simply shoring up the borders of the nation of Alivar, the Warlords that protect each city have built inventions of magical warfare.

Some items, such as the Gauntlet of Bane are used as holy symbols for those powerful enough to wield them. Others such as the Riot Gauntlets have proved to be excellent crowd control devices without needing to worry about lethality. Regardless of the intended use, Warlords tend to always find a way to make even the most innocuous inventions work toward their conquesting machinations.

Gauntlet of Bane

Wonderous Item, very rare (requires attunement by an evil creature)

This heavy gauntlet of brown iron is forged in honor of the mighty Rogue Sorcerer Kronos, and they fit the wearer’s hands and forearms up to the elbow. While wearing the gauntlets, you can cast bane (DC 15) without concentration, which affects any number of creatures within range for 1 minute. Once you use this feature of the Gauntlet of Bane, it cannot be used again until the next dusk.

You can use a gauntlet as a melee weapon while wearing it. You have proficiency with it, and it deals 1d8 bludgeoning damage on a hit (your Strength modifier applies to the attack and damage rolls, as normal). You can not be disarmed of the gauntlet or anything the gauntlet is holding.

While wearing the gauntlet, you can manipulate objects and cast spells with somatic components as normal.

Devouring Void

Weapon (any sword), legendary (requires attunement by an evil creature)

This item appears to be a longsword hilt. While grasping the hilt, you can use a bonus action to cause a blade of pure void energy to spring into existence, or make the blade disappear. While the blade exists, this magic longsword has the finesse property.

You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon, which deals necrotic, psychic, or cold damage (your choice on a hit) instead of slashing damage. When you hit a non-undead, good aligned creature with it, that target takes an extra 1d8 necrotic, psychic, or cold damage. While attuned to this item, you have immunity to necrotic damage.

The sword's void energy absorbs light in a 30-foot radius, causing bright light to become dim light, and dim light to become darkness. The wielder can see through the dim light and darkness created by the Devouring Void.

The blade has 8 charges and regains 1d8 charges daily at dusk. While the blade exists, you can expend charges to take the following actions:

Void Pull (1 Charge). As a bonus action, you may expend a charge to pull up to 3 creatures within 30 feet closer to you. Each creature is forced to make a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be pulled 15 feet closer to the you.

Necrotic Pulse (3 Charges). As an action, you can expend three charges to cast the spell circle of death, centered on yourself.

Champions Belt

Wondrous Item, rare (requires attunement)

This leather belt has a buckle made of bone with golden inlays, only given to gladiatorial champions. You gain the following benefits while wearing the belt:

• Once per turn, when you hit a creature with an attack that deals bludgeoning damage, you can move it 5 feet to an unoccupied space, provided the target is no more than one size larger than you.

• Your weapon attacks that deal bludgeoning damage score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20 on the d20.

Riot Gauntlets

Wondrous Item, uncommon

These gauntlets of artifice are designed to repel rioters without causing harm. These gloves have 1d4 + 1 charges and regain 1d4 charges daily at dawn. As an action the wielder of the gauntlets can slam them together, unleashing an audible boom out to 300 feet.

When you do, each creature in a 15-foot cube originating from you must make a Strength saving throw (DC 14). On a failed save, a creature is pushed 10 feet away from you. On a successful save, the creature isn’t pushed. In addition, unsecured objects that are completely within the area of effect are automatically pushed 10 feet away from the wielder.

You can use a gauntlet as a melee weapon while wearing it. You have proficiency with it if you have proficiency with a martial weapon, and it deals 1d8 bludgeoning damage on a hit (your Strength modifier applies to the attack and damage rolls, as normal).
