Glyph Shards

During the early days of the Ending War, Alivar spies stole these arcane plans from the University of Hyla, in the Arcane Realms. These plans indicated the shards were being tested on students of the university, and were intended to be used against the nation of Alivar once perfected. The Warlords determined these were useful tools to create incredibly fast and powerful arcane soldiers, and quickly began production once they obtained the plans.

A glyph shard is a piece of highly refined and concentrated magical essence. When embedded under the skin during the attunement process, it can be activated to focus a creature's magical capabilities into martial prowess.

Glyph Shard of the Assassin

Wondrous Item, very rare (requires attunement by a non-wizard)

A glyph shard is a piece of highly refined and concentrated magical essence. When embedded under the skin during the attunement process, it can be activated to focus a creature's magical capabilities into martial prowess.


A glyph shard has 3 charges and regains all charges at the end of a long rest. You can use a bonus action to expend a charge and start a Glyph Chant which lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are incapacitated, if you wield a shield, or if you use two hands to make an attack with a weapon. You can also dismiss the Glyph Chant at any time (no action required). While your Glyph Chant is active, you gain the following benefits:

• You gain a bonus to your Armor Class and Dexterity saving throws equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1).

• You gain a bonus to any Constitution saving throw you make to maintain your concentration on a spell. The bonus equals your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1).

• Once per turn when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can deal an additional 2d6 damage if you have advantage on the roll, or an ally is within 5 feet of your target and you don't have disadvantage on the attack roll.

• While attuned to this glyph shard, you can cast disguise self at will and the duration lasts for 8 hours rather than 1.


A creature cannot be attuned to more than one glyph shard at a time. If you attempt to attune to another glyph shard while already attuned to one, your attunement to the previous glyph shard ends.

Glyph Shard of the Shadow

Wondrous Item, very rare (requires attunement by a non-wizard)

A glyph shard is a piece of highly refined and concentrated magical essence. When embedded under the skin during the attunement process, it can be activated to focus a creature's magical capabilities into martial prowess.

A glyph shard has 3 charges and regains all charges at the end of a long rest. You can use a bonus action to expend a charge and start a Glyph Chant which lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are incapacitated, if you wield a shield, or if you use two hands to make an attack with a weapon. You can also dismiss the Glyph Chant at any time (no action required). While your Glyph Chant is active, you gain the following benefits:

• You gain a bonus to your AC equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1).

• You gain a bonus to any Constitution saving throw you make to maintain your concentration on a spell. The bonus equals your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1).

• If you are in dim light or darkness you can use a bonus action to teleport 30 feet to another area that is also in dim light or darkness.

Alternatively, you can expend two charges of the glyph shard to cast greater invisibility on yourself without expending a spell slot. You may also cast this spell with any spell slots of the appropriate level you have.

A creature can not be attuned to more than one glyph shard at a time. If you attempt to attune to another glyph shard while already attuned to one, your attunement to the previous glyph shard ends.


Glyph Shard of the Summoner

Wondrous Item, very rare (requires attunement by a non-wizard)

A glyph shard is a piece of highly refined and concentrated magical essence. When embedded under the skin during the attunement process, it can be activated to focus a creature's magical capabilities into martial prowess.

The Glyph Shard has 3 charges and regains all charges at the end of a long rest. You can use a bonus action to expend a charge and start a Glyph Chant which lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are incapacitated, if you wield a shield, or if you use two hands to make an attack with a weapon. You can also dismiss the Glyph Chant at any time (no action required). While your Glyph Chant is active, you gain the following benefits:

• You gain a bonus to your AC equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1).

• You gain a bonus to any Constitution saving throw you make to maintain your concentration on a spell. The bonus equals your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1).

Alternatively, you can expend two charges to cast conjure elemental as an action, or insect plague as a bonus action. When you cast summon elemental the elemental summoned starts with an additional 30 temporary hit points. When you cast insect plague the radius of the spell is an additional 10 feet wide.

A creature can not be attuned to more than one glyph shard at a time. If you attempt to attune to another glyph shard while already attuned to one, your attunement to the previous glyph shard ends.

Glyph Shard of the Warrior

Wondrous Item, very rare (requires attunement by a non-wizard) A glyph shard is a piece of highly refined and concentrated magical essence. When embedded under the skin during the attunement process, it can be activated to focus a creature's magical capabilities into martial prowess.

The Glyph Shard has 3 charges and regains all charges at the end of a long rest. You can use a bonus action to expend a charge and start a Glyph Chant which lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are incapacitated, if you wield a shield, or if you use two hands to make an attack with a weapon. You can also dismiss the Glyph Chant at any time (no action required). While your Glyph Chant is active, you gain the following benefits:

• You gain a bonus to your AC equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1).

• You gain a bonus to any Constitution saving throw you make to maintain your concentration on a spell. The bonus equals your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1).

• Once per turn when you hit a Huge or smaller creature with a melee attack, you may force them to be pushed up to10 feet away from you.

While you are attuned to this glyph shard, you have advantage on Strength (Athletics) checks and Strength saving throws.

A creature can not be attuned to more than one glyph shard at a time. If you attempt to attune to another glyph shard while already attuned to one, your attunement to the previous glyph shard ends.
