Armors, Wands, and Weapons

A collection of magic items from the System, but ready top use in any setting!


Shield of Fireball Attraction

Armor (shield), rare (requires attunement)

While holding this shield, you have advantage on saving throws against the fireball spell.  Additionally, when a fireball is centered on a point within 40 feet of you, you can use your reaction to make yourself the center of the fireball spell.


Shocking Studded Leather Armor

Armor (studded leather), uncommon

This studded leather armor looks to have extraordinarily thin copper wiring throughout it, and arcs with electricity when struck.  When you are hit by a weapon attack roll for the first time on a turn, the damage is changed to lightning damage.


If you expend the wand's last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the wand itself transforms into a duck and flies away.

Wand of Parrying

Wand, uncommon (requires attunement by a bard, sorcerer, or wizard)

This fine steel wand increases your Armor Class by 2 while you hold it. In addition, you can use a bonus action to cast the resistance spell, using your spellcasting ability modifier.


Wand of the Arch-Mage

Wand, uncommon

This solid marble wand is heavier than most and can be easily carved and decorated as the wielder sees fit.  You can use an action to touch this wand to a section of stone no more than 5 feet in any dimension and form it into an arched passage. The rod can't be used this way again until the next dawn.


Whispers

Weapon (crossbow, hand), common

This small hand crossbow has dozens of different languages inscribed into the wood.  When you make an attack with this crossbow you can whisper a message into one of the bolts and fire it at a space you can see.  Any creatures in that space (and only those creatures) can hear the message.  Alternatively, any creature you hit with a ranged weapon attack with this weapon can also be whispered a message.


Witchwood Dagger

Weapon (dagger), rare (requires attunement by a creature that identifies as female or non-binary)

In the frigid depths of ice-covered mountains, there lies a single species of tree that can survive.  The wood of these trees are known as Witchwood, and they can be imbued with witchen magics to create powerful bursts of arcane and druidic magics.  Only certain witches and magical practitioners know how to enchant and utilize the full capabilities of such a weapon.  A Witchwood Dagger has 9 charges and regains 1d8+1 charges daily at dusk.

Dread Return.  Immediately after you make a ranged weapon attack with this dagger, it immediately returns to your hand.

Dread Stalker.  As an action you can expend two charges from the dagger to cast pass without trace.  

Dread Ambush.  When you take the Attack action on your turn and attack with the Witchwood Dagger on the first round of combat, you may expend three charges to make an additional attack as part of the same action.  Alternatively, you may spend five charges for this second attack to be considered part of a separate turn.
